Coating Thickness Gauges - Australia

We sell and stock Coating Thickness Gauges in Australia. We can measure film thickness, paint thickness and zinc or chrome plating to name a few.

Coating thickness gauges measure the thickness of coatings on metal surfaces. The surface or substrate can either be ferrous or non-ferrous. The coating gauge can use either eddy current or magnetic induction to determine the thickness of coating in microns (µm) up to 1250µm. This can be determined by the coating thickness gauge which automatically detects the substrate and employs the correct method.

Basic testers show live thickness readings in microns (µm) or micro-inches (µin). Advanced testers include live statistics calculation (min/max/average) simultaneously with current reading. Record readings into internal memory, and output data via Bluetooth or RS232 to computer for further analysis.

Typical coatings tested include dry paint film, plastic or polyurethane film, galvanising, Zincing, powder coating plus many more. The coating testers come with either an integrated probe or an external probe on a fly lead. Standard coating testers measure from 0 µm to 1250 µm which covers 95% of applications; however please contact us for pricing and details for extended measurement range and for non-metal substrates.

The coating gauges come supplied with two reference 'zero' test pieces (steel and aluminium) and as set of reference thickness films or shims, so that they can be calibrated in house. Testequip carry all of our range in stock so please contact us to discuss your application.
